James Ruffin

I received the Lord when I was 12 years old in 1961. From that time I began sending away for Bible courses to learn more about the Word of God from Billy Graham and others. At 16 I got baptized in a Baptist church and began serving. I went to college with the intention of attending seminary and was president of Campus Bible Fellowship. Upon graduation my life was upended when I ran across some zealous Christians who followed Watchman Nee who was martyred in China in 1972. I read his books and two in particular deeply impressed me: (1) The Spiritual Man and (2) Changed Into His Likeness. He helped me realize that being a Christian was not about Institutionalized Religion and Denominations. Rather, he stressed doctrines and teachings are empty without a living touch with the Lord. By 1984 I was willing to quit my job and by faith begin serving the Lord Full Time. I have done this for 37 years. I learned that the church life at it essence was meeting with the saints from house to house. This divine procedure was the intimate process of building up the church life in oneness and allowing all the members of the Body to function. I have served local churches in various cities in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York. I also preached the gospel in Taiwan, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
